Biography

Sandi Sweitzer grew up in California, attending Burbank High School and later San Fernando Valley State College. She skated pairs with Roy Wagelein but only had a short career with him as a partner. Wagelein first skated with Susan Berens in 1966-67 but joined up with Sweitzer in 1968 and they placed second at the US Championships and eighth at the Worlds. Sweitzer and Wagelein then turned professional, skating with the Ice Capades. Personally, they also married and settled in Phoenix, Arizona, although they would later divorce.
