Biography

Éva Szöllősi competed as a figure skater for BKE between 1946 and 1949, MÉMOSZ SE between 1949 and 1950, Bp. Építők between 1951 and 1952, Bp. Honvéd between 1952 and 1954, and Bp. Kinizsi and FTC between 1954 and 1957. In the beginning Szöllősi competed individually, then in pairs with Gábor Vida between 1950 and 1957, with them coming first at the national championships in 1953. Between 1950 and 1955 they finished second five times behind the Nagy siblings.

In 1952 they finished 10th at the Oslo Olympics. In 1953 they came first at the Wein World University Championships. They achieved 8th (1953) and 11th (1955) places at the World Championships, as well as 7th (1956) and 8th (1952 and 1955) places at the European Championships. The FTC figure skaters toured Yugoslavia in January 1957, from where Éva Szöllősi did not return to Hungary, as she emigrated to Chile.
