Biography

Mike Maczey was a German decathlete who placed 25th at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Domestically, he won the German national title in 1997 and 1999. At Götzis in 2000, he finished his best ever competition with 8.461 points, and in 2002 he won the team European Cup. In 2004, Maczey retired and moved back to his professional job as a policeman and police sports teacher.
