Biography

German long jumper Sofia Schulte did not reach the final at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, her only Olympic participation. She enjoyed two second and six third places at German indoor and outdoor national championships, but never won title. However, in 1999, she did win the German high school championships.

Schulte later married Austrian coach Sepp Schmidl and moved to Austria. She adopted Austrian nationality in 2011, the same year she finished second at the Austrian indoor championships.
