Biography

Steve Alley was a left winger who skated for the University of Wisconsin, graduating in 1977. After his college graduation, Alley skated for a few years in various minor leagues. In 1977-78 he was with the Springfield Indiana and Hampton Gulls of the American Hockey League. He also skated in the AHL in 1979-81 with the Indians and the Binghamton Whalers. But Alley did make the majors, skating in the World Hockey Association with the Birmingham Bulls from 1977-79, and he had brief shot in the NHL, playing 15 games over two seasons with the Hartford Whalers in 1979-81.
