Tunisian featherweight boxer Noureddine Boughanmi made his international début in 1981 at the Trofeo Italia competition in Venezia. Boughanmi continued to fight across Europe and North Africa, including at the 1982 edition of the Golden Belt Tournament in Romania. A year later he won gold at the Mediterranean Games in Casablanca with victory against Dragan Konovalov. This performance earned him a spot on the Tunisian Olympic team for the 1984 Los Angeles Games, but he lost his opening bout to Charles Lubulwa to be eliminated. Boughanmi continued to box for Tunisia for the next couple of years before retiring from the sport.
