Biography
After helping West Germany win a bronze medal in the biathlon relay at the 1980 Winter Olympics, Franz Bernreiter helped the West German biathlon relay team to a silver medal at the 1981 World Championships. In 1984 Bernreiter became German Champion in the 20 km biathlon event. After his active competitive career he became a biathlon coach with the German national team.
