Biography

Milano’s Giampiero Branduardi joined HC Bocconi as a youth and in a short time his talents emerged. In January 1951, at 14, he made his début in the Second League, joining HC Milano Inter in the 1952/53 season. In 1954 Branduardi took his first of four Italian titles, winning again in 1955, 1958, and 1960, by then with HC Diavoli Milano. He also twice won the prestigious Spengler Cup (1953-54) in Davos.

Branduardi competed twice at the Olympic Winter Games, at Cortina in 1956 and Innsbruck in 1964. He was back on the national team in 1967/68, but Italy did not compete at the 1968 Winter Olympics. Giampiero later taught boys skating and ice hockey at Milano’s Forum, also dedicating himself to training at HC Green Wave Milano.
