Biography

Holger Freitag, father of Richard Freitag, finished 35th at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics on the normal hill, representing East Germany. The same year he had his biggest victory, winning a World Cup event at Harrachov. His active career spanned from 1980-85, retiring after the 1985 season.

Holger Freitag then studied medicine at Berlin and Dresden and became an orthopaedic surgeon. He was first employed by a clinic in Erlabrunn and then owned a practice at Auerbach.
