Biography

Jeff Hastings fourth-place finish on the large hill at the 1984 Winter Olympics is the best modern finish by a US ski jumper at the Olympics. He also placed fourth that year overall on the World Cup circuit, and won a large hill World Cup event in 1983 at Lake Placid. Hastings was a four-time national champion, and his younger brother, Chris, was a two-time national champion and competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Jeff Hastings graduated from Williams College, and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and later became a senior executive for the automotive supply company, Pro-Cut International.
