Takao Ito was a Japanese ski jumper who was active during the 1970s and early 1980s. In 1973 Ito participated at the FIS Ski Flying World Championships where he jumped a world record 176 metres in West Germany. He crashed on landing, however, and as a result the distance was not recognised. Three years later he competed in the large hill and normal hill events at the 1976 Innsbruck Olympics, finishing 22nd and 24th, respectively.
