Biography

Danell Nicholson fought as a heavyweight at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, losing in the quarter-finals to Cuban superstar Félix Savón, but in a very close decision, 13-11. Nicholson turned professional after the Olympics and fought through 2003. In 1994 he defeated John Ruiz to win the lightly regard IBO (International Boxing Organization) title. His career record was 42 wins (32 by KO), and 5 losses. Nicholson’s last bout was a TKO loss to Vladimir Klitschko in a match for the WBA heavyweight title.
