Biography

Biathlete Helmut Klöpsch was placed 31st at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics in the 20 km event. Domestically, he helped his home club SC Dynamo Zinnwald to win the East German national titles with the military patrol in 1963, and then in the biathlon relay in both 1967 and 1968. Individually he came second in the 20 km event in 1963 and 1967. Klöpsch also participated in the Biathlon World Championships between 1962-67.
