Biography

Mark Konopacke started jumping at Iron Mountain, Michigan, and would eventually win two national titles, in 1988 and 1991. He competed at the 1983 and 1989 World Winter University Games, winning two bronze medals, on the normal hill in 1983 and 1989, and a silver medal in the team event in 1989. Konopacke played football and track in high school, and later studied marketing at Michigan State University. He is a member of the American Ski Jumping Hall of Fame.
