Biography

Ernst Köpf jr. was the son of Ernst Köpf, Sr. and was an ice hockey forward who competed at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics with the German team. In total, he won 72 international caps, scored 20 goals, and played in four World Championships 1991-94.

Domestically, Köpf jr. played with Augsburger EV (1985-87), Kölner Haie (1987-92), Düsseldorfer EG (1992-97 and 1998-99), SC Bietigheim-Bissingen (1997-98), and Berlin Capitals (2003). In 1988 he won the national championship with Kölner Haie, and again in 1993 and 1996 with Düsseldorf.

He founded Alpha Sports GmbH in 2007, which supports professional athletes in proceedings against statutory accident insurance and pre-finances them. He also took up coaching lower league clubs.
