Biography

Bernd Wakolbinger was an Austrian lightweight rower participating at the 2000 Sydney and the 2004 Athens Olympics. He rowed with the coxless fours and came ninth and tenth respectively. His greatest moment came in 2001 when he won the coxless fours gold medal at the World Championships with Martin Kobau, Luggi Sigl and Sebastian Sageder. In 2000, he and his crew also won the overall World Cup. A member of RV Wiking Linz, Wakolbinger won 36 national titles.

By profession, Wakolbinger became an operations manager and authorised signatory of a company in the cardboard industry.
