Biography

Amy Palmer was a hammer thrower who finished eighth in the event at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Palmer won a hammer throw bronze medal at the 1998 Goodwill Games and competed at the 1999 World Championships.

Palmer studied at Brigham Young University (BYU), graduating with a degree in recreational management. As a weight thrower she was a five-time All-American outdoors, three times in the shot (1994-96) and the shot and hammer in 1998. She was also a three-time indoor All-American, in the shot put from 1995-97 and the weight throw in 1996-97. Palmer was inducted into the BYU Hall of Fame in 2008.
