Biography

Philip Dunn was a race walker who competed in the 50 km race walk at the 2000, 2004, and 2008 Olympics, with a best finish of 28th in 2000. He was a three-time National Champion at the distance in 2001, 2006, and 2008. Dunn won a bronze medal in the 50 km walk at the 1999 Pan American Games. He also competed at the 2003 and 2007 Pan Ams. He raced twice at the World Championships, in 2001 and 2005, finishing 14th in 2001.

Dunn competed seven times at the World Race Walking Cup and the Pan American Race Walking Cup. He was second in the 50 km at the 2003 Pan Am Race Walking Cup and finished fourth in 1998.

Dunn ran track in college at D-3 Carleton College but competed as a walker in the summers. He graduated with a BA degree in English in 1993. Dunn was a two-time winner of the USA Ron Zinn 50 km Award in 2002 and 2003.
