Biography

Sun Jue-Fen was born Tianjin, China and started competing for them in the 1980s. She moved to Italy in 1990 and became an Italian citizen, competing for her new country as a right-handed pitcher. She wore the Azzurro vest at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the 1998 World Cup, and the 1997 European Championships, earning 64 international caps. Sun had a long career, almost 30 years, retiring after the 2012 season. She recorded over 1,800 strikeouts, with a career ERA of 0.96 and a batting average of .406. In 2015 Sun became president of Blue Girls Bologna.
