Biography

Stephan Lauener’s finest achievement was finishing sixth in the ski jumping at the 1925 World Championships, where he was particularly known for his esthetic style. After his appearance at the 1928 Winter Olympics, Lauener took the Swiss Ski Jumping Championship the same year. In 1929, he took part in the World Championships again, but finished a disappointing 21st. He retired from active sport in 1933. In 1927-28 he was chairman of the Wengen Ski-Club. Lauener was a baker by profession.
