Biography

Don Alfredo Ewing attended military school and made his career in the military, retiring in 1925 as a general. He was director of the Chilean Military Academy during his service. He was military attaché to the United States from 1915-18, and then served in similar posts in London and Spain. While in the US, Ewing wrote articles on the possible participation of the United States in World War I. Ewing was co-opted onto the IOC in April 1929 but was decommissioned as a member in 1933 after failing to attend any IOC Sessions.
