Biography

Jim Sladky was an ice dancer who competed at the 1968 Grenoble Winter Olympics in the ice dancing demonstration. Sladky was a couple with Judy Schwomeyer, and the two would later marry, although they divorced in 1990.

Sladky and Schwomeyer were US Champions for five consecutive years, from 1968-72. They were North American Champions in 1971. At the World Champions they won a silver medal in 1970 and bronze medals in 1969, 1971, and 1972. Sladky and Schwomeyer were inducted into the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame together in 1991. Jim Sladky later married Fay Kelley. He became a figure skating coach and official.
