Biography

Another former Manchester Grammar School student, A. B. Craig played attack for Old Mancunians before joining Mellor for the 1927-28 season. In his final season at Old Mancunians, however, he helped them reach their first Senior Northern Flags final. Unfortunately, the Old Boys were beaten 12-6 by Heaton Mersey. Craig, who won representative honours with Lancashire and The North, retired after just one season with Mellor, but came out of retirement when he got the call to join the Great Britain squad for the Amsterdam Olympics.
