Biography

Jacky Jakoba was a Dutch baseball player. Born in Willemstad, Curaçao, Jakoba moved to the Netherlands in 1981 to find work. He began to play baseball for AHC Quick in Amsterdam, transferring to Neptunus in Rotterdam three years later. In his first year with Neptunus Jakoba set a record of 24 homeruns in one season. Jakoba returned to AHC Quick in 1992 to play his final domestic season.

Jakoba had a lengthy international career, playing in 84 matches for the Netherlands from 1984 to 1991. In 1985 and 1987 Jakoba was part of the Dutch team that won the European Baseball Championships. Jakoba also represented the Netherlands at the 1988 Seoul Olympics when baseball was a demonstration sport. The Dutch team finished in joint-fifth place.
