Biography

Will Clark was a first baseman who played for the USA at the 1984 Olympics, but is best known for a long Major League Baseball career. Clark played in college at Mississippi State University, after which he was drafted in the second round of the 1985 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Francisco Giants.

Clark played with the Giants from 1986-93. He was a five-time All-Star with the Giants, in 1988-92, led the National League in RBIs in 1988, and won the Silver Slugger Award in 1989 and 1991. He was also MVP of the National League Championship Series in 1989. Clark later moved to the Texas Rangers, playing with them from 1994-98, during which time he made the 1994 All-Star Game.

Clark finished his career in 1999-2000 with the Baltimore Orioles and with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2000. He had a career batting average of .303 with 284 home runs, and 1,205 RBIs. He later worked as an advisor, first to the Arizona Diamondbacks, and then back with the San Francisco Giants.
