Biography

Gary Green was a shortstop who played for the USA at the 1984 Olympic demonstration baseball tournament. He played in college at Oklahoma State University. He was a three-time draft pick in the Major League Baseball Draft, finally signing in 1984 as a first round pick of the San Diego Padres.

Green had a short Major League career, playing in only 106 games spread out over seven years (1986-1992). He played with the Padres, the Texas Rangers, and Cincinnati Reds, and had a career .222 batting average in 180 at-bats. He later became a minor league manager.
