Biography

Billy Masse was a rightfielder who played for the USA at the 1988 Olympic demonstration baseball tournament. Masse played in college initially at Davidson, but then transferred to Wake Forest University. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the seventh round of the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft.

Masse never made it to the Major Leagues. He played seven years of minor league ball (1989-95), the last four of which were in Triple-A with the Columbus Clippers of the International League. Masse then became a well-respected minor league manager, managing various teams from 1998-2009 in A and Double-A ball.
