Biography

Don Novick played for the USA at the 1964 Olympic demonstration baseball tournament. Novick attended New York University (NYU), class of 1967, and was given the NYU Alumni Award as the university’s outstanding athlete, the first time it was ever given to a baseball player. He later played for the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies minor league systems in 1965-66, reaching A ball as his highest level.

Novick came back to NYU and coached the Violets’ men’s soccer (football) team. He worked in the textile industry as an executive. After his retirement he became the batting coach for Mamaroneck (NY) High School. In 2009 he was inducted into the NYU Hall of Fame.
