Biography

Robert Costello competed in eventing for the USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Costello grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts and began fox hunting with the Myopia Hounds. He attended the University of Massachusetts, graduating with a degree in mass communications.

Costello competed at many of the top eventing competitions, including Rolex Kentucky, Fair Hill International, and the Burghley Horse Trials in Britain. He left international competition in the 2010s to focus first on C&C Sporthorse, and then started his own venture with ROC Equestrian in 2013, a coaching, training, and sales/sourcing business.

Costello has also been involved in equestrian administration, chairing the US Equestrian Federation (USEF) Active Athletes from 2001-08 and the USEF Eventing High Performance Committee from 2009-12. He chaired the USEF Eventing Selection Committee from 2013 through the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In 2022 he became chef d’equipe of USEF Land Rover Eventing for the Eventing World Championships.
