Biography

Christie Pearce-Rampone, a center-back, played soccer (football) for the USA at four Olympic Games, winning gold medals in 2004, 2008, and 2012, and a silver medal in 2000 at Sydney. She also played on winning World Cup sides in 1999 and 2003, and played in the World Cup in 2007, 2011, and 2015. Her 2015 appearance at the World Cup made her the oldest woman, at the time, to compete in that event, at age 40. During her long career she earned 311 international caps, which through 2022 was the third most by a USA player, male or female, after Kristine Lilly and Carli Lloyd.

Pearce-Rampone attended Monmouth University where she played basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. After college she played for the Central Jersey Splash in 1997 and the New Jersey Lady Stallions and Buffalo FFillies in 1998 in the W-League. From 2001-03 she played in the WUSA (Women’s United Soccer Association) with the New York Power. She later was with Sky Blue FC (in the NWSL – National Women’s Soccer League) from 2009-10 and 2013-17 in the WPS (Women’s Professional Soccer) and with magicJack in 2011.

Pearce-Rampone was inducted into the Monmouth University Hall of Fame in 2007 and into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2021.
