Biography

Peter Vagenas was a soccer (football) midfielder who played for the USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Vagenas earned three international caps for the United States and played six matches on the U-23 National Team. Vagenas played in college at UCLA from 1996-99, leading them to the 1997 NCAA title.

After college Vagenas played professionally in Major League Soccer (MLS), best known for his time with the LA Galaxy in 2000-08. He then played for the Seattle Sounders FC (2009-10) and Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2011), and ended his career with Chivas USA in 2012. While with the Galaxy he helped them win the US Open Cup in 2001 and 2005, the MLS Cup in 2002 and 2005, and the 2000 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup.
