In 1932 he joined the Grasshoppers Zürich in Switzerland for one season. Magyar played a total of 33 games for the Hungarian national team, competing in two Winter Olympics (1928, 1936), two Europeans (1927, 1929), and three World Championships (1930, 1931 and 1933).
