Italian architect Angelo Frisa was one of the architects of the Stadio dei Cipressi (today Stadio Olimpico in Rome). The construction phase covered the period of 1928-1932. He was also involved in the increase of the capacity, which was completed in 1937. The stadium not only served to hold sporting events but also hosted gatherings of the Fascist movement - for instance when Hitler visited Italy in 1938. Further enlargement was planned, but the work had to be interrupted when war broke out.
The engineer from Torino was one of the most active engineers of the inter-war period in Italy. In addition to the stadium he built the aircraft hangars for Savoia Marchetti aircraft and part of the Fiat Mirafiori production halls. After World War II, he worked on more than 2000 projects in Europe, Africa and South America. Among these were several Italian highways, additional production facilities (such as the Torino-Milano and the viaduct of the Great St. Bernard), several factory buildings for Fiat, and a large number of other industrial buildings.
