Biography

Luxembourgian Michel Jungblut was a cabinetmaker and woodcarver. He received his training at the Weber workshop in his hometown Remich, before he founded his own ebénisterie (atelier of a cabinetmaker), which still exists. Jungblut also worked on the restoration of wooden interiors, and as a stone sculptor together with his brother Joseph. Several family members succeeded him in his profession. Michel Jungblut was one of the artists representing Luxembourg at the World’s Fairs 1935 in Brussels and 1939 in New York.
