Just Jahn

German Just Jahn paired with Manfred Becher and came in third at the 1960 West German Championships only a few weeks before the Roma Olympics. But then Jahn was injured only one day before the first round, and an abscessed callus caused him to withdraw. Becher then paired with substitute Günter Schroers, but they had little chance, having not trained together, and were eliminated in the semifinals of the double sculls.

Jahn later became CEO of the medium-sized West German company Weigang Group, a producer of organizational products concentrating solely on achieving a premium with all its brands and across all relevant market sectors. He had a paralyzing accident some years before his death in 2007.
