Biography

Hungarian track and field sprinter László Kiss represented Tatabányai Bányász Sport Club both as an athlete and later as their President. A talented runner, Kiss broke the Hungarian record in the 100 metres in 1956 when he ran 10.4 seconds. He represented Hungary on 18 occasions and was a 12-time national champion. He was selected to run in the 100 metres and the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics but was unable to start in either event due to an injury. Following his sports career Kiss became the chair of Tatabányai Bányász in 1964 and in 1984 he was elected as the club’s President.
