Biography

Born in Sardinia and a member of the Amsicora club, known mostly for its many Italian titles in hockey (field), Adriano Loddo made a name for himself in the second half of the 1950s. His best season was 1957 where, after setting his personal best for 200 metres (21.7) in Milano on 15 June, he won his only national title in September in Bologna over 400 metres, with a mark of 48.6, narrowly winning over Luigi Fattorini and Fulvio Calamari.

Loddo continued to compete well for three years but with no significant results. At the 1960 Roma Olympics he was a substitute for the 4x400m relay. Internationally, from 1957-60, Loddo earned three caps.

Personal Best: 400 - 37.6 (1960).
