Biography

German rower Stefan Roehnert partnered Sebastian Mayer in the double sculls at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and finished fourth. The pair had won the silver medal at the World Championships the previous year. Roehnert had already won two silvers with the quadruple sculls in 1997 and 1998.

Domestically, Roehnert won the national title with the quadruple sculls in 1997 and 1998, with Mayer in the double sculls from 1998-2000, and with Stephan Volkert in 2001. The following year he finished second in the single sculls. By profession, Roehnert became an IT consultant and project manager.
