Thrine Kane

Thrine Kane was a rifle shooter who competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She attended school at Xavier University where she was an eight-time All-American, four each in air rifle and small-bore rifle. She also worked as a sports journalist, covering the rifle team for the school newspaper, and she served on the Xavier Student Athlete Advisory Council. Kane was inducted into the Xavier Hall of Fame in 2009.

Kane became a shooting coach, first at the Optimist Acorns Junior Rifle Club in Fairfax, Virginia, where she coached from 2005-18. During that time she earned a master’s degree in German and European Studies from Georgetown University. She later became an assistant shooting coach at Morehead State University. Kane has earned a USA Shooting Level III Advanced Certified Rifle Coach certificate and is a member of the National Coach Development Staff.

Kane worked in government in Washington, DC in the intelligence community and as an analyst, foreign language program manager, leadership development program manager, instructor, and corporate facilitator.
