Biography

Demetria Sance played volleyball for the USA at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She won a bronze medal in the sport at the 1999 Pan American Games.

Sance studied at the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in kinesiology in 2002. In 1996 she was named National Freshman of the Year. In 2011 she earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Texas A&M University.

In 2002 Sance served as head volleyball coach and assistant track coach at Seguin High School in Arlington, Texas. After earning her master’s degree she became an assistant principal at Brackenridge High School in Texas and later principal of the Southside ISD in San Antonio, Texas. Sance would later be inducted into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame.
