Le Maosheng had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 2004 Olympics Featherweight class (312.5 kg); 2nd in the 1997 World Championships Bantamweight class (295.0 kg); 1st in the 1999 World Championships Featherweight class (320.0 kg); 2nd in the 2002 World Championships Featherweight class (310.0 kg); 1st in the 1998 Asian Games Featherweight class; 1st in the 2002 Asian Games Featherweight class. He set two clean & jerk world records.
