Marko Palo débuted at the Finnish Championships in 1985 with HPK Hämeenlinna, playing with them until 1994. He then spent two seasons in Sweden, playing with HV71 in 1994-95 and Malmö IF in 1995-96. With HV71, Palo won the Swedish title in 1995. In 1996, Palo returned to Finland, playing one season with HPK, then one season with Espoo Blues and then again one season with HPK. In 1999-00, Palo played in the Czech Republic with VHK Vsetín, but then returned to Finland, where he played another season with HPK before retiring after his 2001-02 season with Porin Ässat. Internationally, Palo won an Olympic bronze in 1994, was World Champion in 1995 and won the World Championships silver in 1994.
