Franco Rossi

Franco Rossi was an Italian ice hockey player. He started as a left wing but switched to defense over the course of his career. Rossi won seven Italian titles, the first in the 1933/34 season with HC Milano, the last in 1949/50 with the same team, after having also won with other Milano teams, Diavoli Rossoneri and A.M.D.G. (Associazione Milanese Disco su Ghiaccio). Internationally Rossi earned 48 caps with the National team. He took part at three World Championships (1934-35, 1939) and the 1936 and 1948 Olympic Winter Games.

Rossi was World War II veteran who fought on the Russian front in 1941-42. After retiring from competition, Rossi became an ice hockey coach. He was later President of HC Bocconi and HC Ambrosiana. He passed away at the age of 90 in Albenga on the Mediterranean Sea.
