Biography

David Santee was a singles skater who had one of the longest careers in US amateur skating. He competed at the US Seniors from 1972-82, with eight podium finishes. He never managed to win the US title, but was second in 1976, 1978, and 1980-81, and third in 1973, 1977, 1979, and 1982. Santee also competed at the World Championships seven times, with a best finish of second in 1981, his only podium. He was fourth in 1977 and 1980. Santee later became a figure skating judge and is an ISU Technical Specialist. His younger brother Jimmy also competed at the US elite level.
