Biography

The high point of Antti Sivonen’s career was probably being selected to the Finnish 1956 Olympic team where he finished 8th over 50 km at those Olympics. His other notable placements during his career were winning the 3x10 km relay silver at the Finnish Championships in 1956, finishing second over 15 km in 1953 and third over 50 km in 1957 at the Lahti Ski Games, and placing second over 30 km at the 1956 Swedish Ski Games in Falun. By profession, Sivonen was a policeman, working as a detective in Tampere.
