Flatwater canoeist Ruth Domgörgen was a member of the West German K-4 500 that finished fifth at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. At the World Championships the following year, the K-4 placed fourth. By profession, Domgörgen became a clerk in the “Academies” department for Education & Talent of the Stifterverband in Bonn. Her sons Tim, Kai and Max Rendschmidt were also flatwater canoeists.
