Biography

Edwin Wedge competed in the US Nationals in speed skating in 1929, 1931, and 1935, his best finish being fourth in 1931 and equal fourth at the 1935 Indoors. He also competed without distinction at the 1932 and 1933 World Championships, his best finish being eighth in the 10K at the 1932 Worlds. In 1933 he competed for the United States in a dual meet in Oslo against Norway. Wedge later claimed to have secretly married Swedish opera singer Göta Ljungberg.

Personal Bests: 500 – 46.0 (1933); 1500 – 2:29.9 (1933); 5000 – 8:51.5 (1933); 10000 – 18:08.7 (1933).
