Polish ice hockey player Józef Wiśniewski spent his career in goal with Pomorzanin Toruń. Although Wiśniewski never won a league title with the club he was selected to represent the national team on 56 occasions. During the 1960s he competed at three editions of the World Championships and participated at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics, sharing goalkeeping duties with Władysław Pabisz at the latter. Wiśniewski was only 55-years-old when he died suddenly from a heart attack on the way home from a Pomorzanin league match.
