Bernd Kroschewski did not finish the giant slalom as a snowboarder at the 1998 Nagano Olympics representing Germany. His greatest moment came the previous year when he won a gold medal (slalom) and a bronze medal (parallel slalom) at the World Championships. Kroschewsk was chief national coach for snowboarding from 2009-10. By profession, he was a graduated architectural engineer. Kroschewski was also active in mountaineering and mountain biking.
