Women and Sport Commission ()

In 1995, a Women and Sport Working Group was formed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to advise the IOC president on suitable policies to be developed in this field. The working group became a formal IOC Commission in 2004. The commission has a consultative purpose and meets once a year, forwarding its policies to the IOC Executive Board. The commission consists of members from the IOC, the National Olympic Committees, and the International Federations, as well as athletes’ representatives and members from the Paralympic Movement. The current chairperson is Anita DeFrantz (USA).
